Hear from Our Students
Over the past three years, I have experienced significant growth and development as an educator, mainly due to the support and knowledge I have gained from my Montessori Live program. This program has provided me with valuable insights and practical strategies that have enhanced my teaching methods and deepened my understanding of the Montessori philosophy.
I believe the program is designed and managed by individuals who genuinely embrace the Montessori philosophy of allowing people to learn at their own pace. The instructors consistently demonstrated kindness, helpfulness, understanding, and respect. They provided individualized support, ensuring that each participant could progress according to their unique needs and strengths.
I completed my Lower/Upper Elementary training with Montessori Live, and now I am completing my Early Childhood training. I love the instructors at Montessori Live, and I have learned so much from observing them. I love how most of the courses can be completed online, eliminating the need to attend weekend courses or spend most of the summer in residencies. I like how I can access lesson
videos online. I love how curriculum courses include both early childhood and elementary lessons. I also love how I can dedicate time to preparing my environment, making materials, and planning for my children, instead of making endless albums.
I would recommend Montessori Live because the instructors are excellent and talented, the schedule is flexible, and time can be spent on preparing the environment and planning for children instead of spending months making albums, when there are so many great albums available for purchase.
Montessori Live has equipped me to step into the environment as an educator and help guide children through their educational journey. I began my training with Montessori Live before I had stepped foot in a traditional classroom as an educator, and even though I had been teaching for over a decade in outdoor and experiential contexts, Montessori Live laid the foundation for my classroom educational journey. As such, I feel very confident in my abilities, instructional, social, and emotional, to step into my new role as lead educator in Bruno Montessori’s Upper Elementary.
Montessori Live takes the Montessori method and applies it to adult learners as well. I have been supported, guided, mentored, and encouraged every step of the way. This has easily been my best experience with distance education, or education broadly speaking, ever.
I would highly recommend this program. As mentioned above, this has been my best experience with education ever. Each member of the faculty has felt personally interested in my success as an educator both in and out of the program.
Participating in this training program has taught me everything that I know about Montessori philosophy and methodology. With each class, I learned a little bit more, until finally, in the Practicum, I was able to put all the pieces together. I am so grateful that we, as adults, had the opportunity to learn in a Montessori way, allowing us to experience the joy of learning that comes from having choices, being supported rather than being told precisely how to do something, and being given grace while recognizing the complexity of life. Thank you, Montessori Live, for modeling Montessori education.
The training was a very educational experience, not only when learning from my peers but also throughout the residency experience. I have felt more confident in the learning environment, and that has made me a better observer when guiding children.
My goals as an educator have strengthened with the support of this training program, and especially listening to my peers. I have learned to be an active listener and take great advice from colleagues. The resources of the program were also a great help.
There is an excellent change in how I see myself as a Montessori educator now, and even greater in the future. When I first began, I did not have any experience in the Montessori curriculum at all. My love grew as I got to understand the hands-on, independent expertise. I understood the materials firsthand and was able to share that experience with others. I am still learning every day and will continue to expand my knowledge to other future Montessori educators.
As a Montessori educator, all of these skills are needed to work as a team in the learning environment, as well as to reflect these skills on others. To learn, grow, and expand, one needs to share these qualities to effectively guide and care for others, especially in a learning environment.
I had several Aha moments throughout my journey of Montessori EC and Elementary training. Before the beginning of this training, my approach to education was entirely traditional and only academically oriented. The most profound aspect of Montessori philosophy that I learned is how a teacher can influence the holistic development of the child. The individualized, child-centered approach has shown me how to understand and cater to the needs of each child uniquely. Learning how a child can be intrinsically motivated, rather than relying on rewards or appreciation, was a huge turning point in my journey as an educator.
This training program has not only supported my professional growth as an educator but also provided me with the scope to self-reflect and continue my personal growth. As I look back at myself before the training, I can see the confidence and leadership skills I have developed through this period. The insight I have gained in Parent Involvement and Child Development through this training is amazing.
My aspirations as an Educator have immensely evolved during this period. Initially, my intention was solely to help children with their academic development. Now, I thrive in understanding each child and working towards their individual growth.
I look forward to working towards a greater cause.
The phenomenal growth I acquired is the ability to observe and reflect. Observation is the soul of the Montessori classroom. As Montessori educators, we act as facilitators to the child by preparing the environment, understanding the individual needs, and intrinsically motivating the children. Leading by role modeling is another quality I have acquired through this training.
