Her journey began as the registrar in 2009, and over the years, she has seamlessly transitioned into her role as Administrative Director, bringing with her an impressive backdrop of over three decades in finance and business management. A graduate of Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a certified paralegal, Jenifer combines her expertise with a genuine passion for helping others navigate their Montessori journey, making her the go-to person for inquiries, assistance, and guidance throughout your training experience.

As the head educator of the lower elementary department at Island Village Montessori School, she brings a unique blend of linguistic insight and educational expertise, holding a BA in Linguistics and an M. Ed in elementary education. Her engaging workshops at the Early Childhood Summer Residency program and esteemed institutions like New Gate reflect her commitment to sharing the Montessori philosophy with fellow educators. Beyond the classroom, Whelma embraces a life rich in creativity and joy, indulging in dance, music, and travel, while walking a spiritual path grounded in practicality that inspires those around her to cultivate both knowledge and wonder.

An advocate for hands-on learning, she combines her expertise in Elementary I-II and K-6 education to create engaging, student-centered experiences that inspire curiosity and critical thinking. Mary-Beth’s innovative approach was showcased at the Montessori Foundation Peace Conference, where she shared her insights on integrating geometry into real-world contexts, further enriching her commitment to arts education through her published work. Currently at a Montessori magnet school in Duval County, she demonstrates her dedication to nurturing young minds in every lesson.

Balancing professional development with family life, he embraces the joys and challenges of being a husband and father, continually motivated by his wife’s and two boys’ success and happiness. As he pursues his master’s in elementary education, Zech remains dedicated to shaping the future of education, nurturing not just students but the educators of tomorrow.

Her commitment to excellence is reflected in the practicum opportunities she provides for Auburn University’s Early Childhood Education Program, making her a pivotal figure in the local educational landscape. With a deep understanding of child development from her training at prestigious Montessori centers, Charlene continues to inspire children and fellow educators alike, empowering the next generation with a love of learning while honoring the principles of Montessori education.

His pedagogical lineage connects directly to Maria Montessori through his mentors, Claude and Francesca Claremont, who pioneered the Montessori movement in the United Kingdom. As a mentor teacher for Monroe County, FL, and a seasoned instructor since 2007, Cathy thoughtfully integrates physical education and wellness into her curriculum, fostering a love for movement and learning. Her dedication and expertise inspire her students to explore, grow, and thrive in a supportive environment.

Todd Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Cowles Montessori community, where he has been shaping young minds since 2017. With a solid educational foundation that includes a BA in Elementary Education and a Master of Education Administration, Todd is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment that promotes holistic learning for students from early childhood through middle school. His passion for education is complemented by his love for mentoring fellow educators, as seen in his role as a course instructor and presenter. Outside the classroom, Todd cherishes moments with his family, exploring the world through travel, enjoying nature on walks, and sharing delightful dining experiences that create lasting memories.

Kristen Grannell

Kristen has been a Montessori educator at Island Village Montessori School since 2013. She is currently enrolled in Walden University’s doctorate program for educational leadership. She has a master’s in Montessori education from Sarasota university and a bachelor’s degree in Geoscience from the University of Southern Maine. Kristen is a MACTE-certified elementary educator for ages 6-9. She is certified in general education with the State of Florida and a certified educator in Earth-Space Science for grades 6-12. Kristen is also certified in ESOL, ESE, and Reading K-12.
