Elementary II Standalone

Summary

Our Elementary II Standalone Montessori Program (EII SA) (ages 9-12) is accredited by MACTE.  A MACTE certified diploma will be awarded at the conclusion of the program.  Adult learners must take all required online courses through Montessori Live AND successfully participate in the Elementary II Summer Residency.

To be considered as an accredited Montessori educator for ages 9 to 12 years a participant must complete the following:

  • The Online Component
  • One In-Person Residency
    • Summer Residency – (10 days) (RESS-EII)
    • Virtual Sessions (51 clock hours)
  • One Teaching Practicum at the participant’s home school or in a participating school in the participant’s local area.

Steps to Enroll

  1. Submit transcripts of a bachelor’s degree
  2. Complete the online application
  3. Meet all admission requirements
  4. Provide evidence of ability to practice in a 9-12 age Montessori environment

Options

Practicum (EII Standalone)

A semester-long course with a teaching component.

Educator Teaching Practicum for Educators (PRED) Requires Approval and adds up to a minimum of 400 clock hours in a 9-12 age environment.

 

Important Information

  • Montessori Live Courses are offered throughout the year (Link to Annual Course Schedule). It is suggested to take the Foundations of Montessori Philosophy course before or concurrently while enrolling in curriculum courses.
  • The 10-Day Summer Residency is offered inJuly at various locations.
  • Not all courses will be offered at the same time, refer to the annual schedule.
  • To be fully trained as a Montessori educator for ages 9 to 12 years, one must complete the entire Elementary II standalone training program.
  • You can expect to spend 7 to 10 hours a week per course depending on your experience level.
  • Curriculum course components consist of: forum postings, video lectures, live chats, assignments, reading materials, practice lessons, lesson summaries, and observations.
  • Textbook and manual requirements vary per course.

An online application must be completed.  Once officially accepted, the EII SA program must be completed within three years of the start date of acceptance. A course completion certificate is awarded at the conclusion of each course.

Participants completing the EII Standalone program will receive a MACTE accredited diploma.

Montessori Live requires payment for each individual course at the time of enrollment to that course. There is no requirement to prepay the entire cost of the program.
