Dr. Montessori thought that language development was the foundation of human cultural. Children are born with an amazing capacity to absorb language. In this session, we will look at how the curriculum supports language development in children, including oral and written language exercises. Lesson plans and handouts will be provided. In Montessori education, science and history (social studies) are combined into one area called the cultural studies. How is this curriculum connected between Early Childhood and Elementary levels? We will discuss what Montessori called the spiral curriculum as it pertains to the scientific method and helping children understand the big picture we call the story of the universe. Lesson plans and handouts will be provided.
The seminar series does not count toward MACTE certification.
